Tour Details:
This tour commences at 8.30am and after a short 25 minute journey we arrive at these magnificent Botanical Gardens, whose waterfalls are the only ones in the world to be situated in the middle of a city. Also worth mentioning is the spectacular rainforest located on the river bank which gives the impression of being in the heart of a jungle!
After our meander through the garden we stop off for refreshments at the Red Leaf Fig tea garden. We then depart from Nelspruit at 11am and head towards Barberton arriving at Chimp Eden in time for the 12pm tour.
Chimp Eden is a sanctuary for Chimps that have been displaced from their natural habitats in Africa and is the only Chimpanzee haven in South Africa. Started and developed by the famous Dr Jane Goodall, Chimp Eden is an amazing accomplishment given the fact that the facility is reliant on public support to a large extent. A guide will take the group through the facility and the tour lasts for about an hour, thereafter we break for a light lunch before slowly making our way back to Nelspruit.
We depart from Chimp Eden at about 3.30pm arriving back in Nelspruit at 4pm.
